Practice Standards & Fees for Services
My fee for counselling services is $125.00 an hour. For situations in which this fee would lead to severe economic hardship, I adjust my fee on a sliding scale according to your gross monthly income. Unless there is a prior arrangement, full payment is required at the end of each session.
I emphasize the importance of keeping regularly scheduled appointments; this is essential to effective counselling. I book my appointments every month and will notify you at the beginning of each monthly period which appointment times are available. Normally, long-term clients occupy the same time slot each period. If for some reason you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, I require 48 hours advance notice or will ask you to pay the full fee. Naturally, this policy will not apply in the event of family illness or other crisis. If you are late for a session, I will maintain the scheduled session end time and charge you the full fee. If you decide to discontinue your sessions with me, and we have not discussed this together at least three sessions in advance of your proposed end date, I will ask that you return for at least one closure session.
If you need to discuss, clarify, receive support or bring up an issue on the phone between appointments, please feel free to do so. I will not charge you for any time less than 15 minutes, but if the call exceeds this you will be charged for the additional time in 15 minute segments pro-rated on your regular fee. In addition, should an emergency arise between your scheduled appointments, please do not hesitate to call. If I am unavailable, leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.
